How different our lives are when we really know what is deeply important to us, and keeping that picture in mind, we manage ourselves each day to be and to do what really matters most.--Stephen Covey

About Me

The Girl:     Meet Liz. She's in her mid-twenties and currently works as an community therapist. This just means that she does in-home therapy with children and their families instead of working out of an office. She went to school to study psychology (and she did!) but ended up falling in love with social work. Which is what her Master's degree is in. She is working toward her LCSW license so she can do private practice therapy. She loves her friends & family, her hubby, owl figurines, country music, reading, theater and going to the movies. And she loves writing. Someday she hopes to write a book but inspiration has not come to her yet.

The Boy:     Meet Jake. He's in his mid-twenties and currently works as an automotive technician (fancy way of saying car mechanic). He loves what he does and is very good at it but hopes to someday become a teacher--he is working at becoming an instructor for the car company he works. In 2014, he would like to own the 50th anniversary Mustang. He loves his friends and family, his wifey, cars, country music, his furbaby (Diesel), going to the movies and pizza (seriously, he could eat it every day!). He can't wait to be a dad and hopes to achieve this soon.

The Girl & The Boy:     Liz and Jake met in 2001 in high school. It was actually in Algebra II class and Liz thought Jake was absolutely annoying. Soon, though, Jake settled down (he was super hyper) and they became good friends during the second semester of the school year. It was not until the beginning of Liz's senior year that they began dating and officially became a couple on December 8, 2002. Yes, this means that this year they will be celebrating their 9th year of being together! They have survived 2 different bouts of long-distance dating and moving to a whole new state together where they have no friends or family and did not know a soul. They finally got married on May 8, 2011 and have been enjoying the married life. Liz and Jake are working on saving for a house, thinking about when is a good time to start a family, and enjoying their furbabies (2 cats, Rascal and Bear, and 1 dog, Diesel). They love to travel, go to the movies/watch movies, go out for sushi, cook together and sleep.
